Shepherd jailed by Dubai court for breaking man’s leg in fight

Pakistani man admitted to a physical assault charge after fight at a farm in Al Marmoum.

DUBAI // A shepherd assaulted a compatriot with an iron bar, breaking his leg.

The Pakistani, 22, admitted to a charge of physical assault over the incident on March 12 at a farm in Al Marmoum.

“He pushed me and I fell, then he left the room only to return about three minutes later with an iron bar in his hand,” said the victim, 36. He said his attacker hit him to the head and legs with the bar.

When arrested, the defendant told police he had been attacked and injured by the victim and only acted in self-defence.

A medical report found that the defendant’s injuries were self-inflicted. He was sentenced to six months in jail.
