The UAE is to send urgent humanitarian assistance to Palestinians affected by floods that washed away homes and property over the past few days.

The UAE is to send urgent humanitarian assistance to Palestinians affected by floods that washed away homes and property over the past few days, Wam, the state news agency, said last night.

The move follows a directive from the President, Sheikh Khalifa, to Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent.

The charity's office in Palestine reported widespread devastation, especially in the areas of Ramallah, Jerusalem and Hebron, with thousands of trees uprooted and homes damaged by the effects of ice and snow, Wam said.
