Sharjah Used Book Festival, which ended on Sunday, raised Dh383,000 for development programmes and improvements to services for the disabled.
According to state news agency Wam, the five-day event attracted more than 50,000 visitors.
Jihad Abdul Qadir, financial resources and investment development department official at the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, said the “festival is a bonus for all the volunteers” and the cultural and social event sought to raise awareness among members of society.
