DUBAI // A secretary who kidnapped, sexually assaulted and robbed a woman was jailed for 10 years on Wednesday.
D K, from Uzbekistan, also forced M F, from Turkmenistan, to dance naked and threatened to send video of it to her family.
The Uzbek, 28, was helped by a number of unidentified men, prosecutors said.
The victim was locked in an apartment, stripped and molested by one of the men.
She was forced to sign documents stating she owed money to the Uzbek, who also stole the contents of her bag.
The Uzbek called the victim on March 27 last year and said she needed to talk.
“I knew the defendant from December of 2012 when she helped me get a visit visa to the UAE,” said the victim.
“When she issued me the visa, she told me it cost Dh3,000, but when I arrived in Dubai she started demanding I pay her Dh4,000 more.
“When I met her under the building, she pushed me into a car and a man inside the car hit me on the head with an object, so I fainted and woke up to find myself in a strange flat.”
The victim said a number of men forced her to take off her clothes and one of them molested and kissed her against her will.
She claimed the Uzbek stood and laughed as she was sexually assaulted.
“They forced me to dance while naked and threatened to send the recording to my family back home if I didn’t pay them. They threatened to kill me too,” she said.
The victim said that after signing the debt papers, the Uzbek and the men took Dh1,500, US$5,000 (Dh18,365), perfume, a phone and other items from her bag.
She was then driven back to her apartment and told to repay the money she was forced to say she owed. She called the police since she had no money to pay them.
Police arrested the Uzbek woman but failed to identify the men who helped her.
At Dubai Criminal Court in October, the Uzbek denied even knowing the woman she was accused of assaulting.
She will be deported after serving her sentence.
