DUBAI// A 19-year-old drunk man said he fell asleep in a hotel nightclub but woke up to find himself in a police station.
K A, from Saudi Arabia, said in records that he was at the Jumeirah Beach Residence when he went to the cinema to watch a movie. Afterwards he went to a club and had some drinks after which he couldn’t remember anything.
The Dubai Court of Misdemeanours was told that K A was visiting Dubai when he went to a dance club on October 30 where he consumed alcohol then fell asleep in the street. Police were notified by passers-by that a man was lying in the street. A patrol arrived and took him to the police station where he is accused of damaging the air conditioning remote control.
He denied damaging the control at the station when was asked by prosecutors. However he confessed to drinking alcohol without a licence.
He was found guilty and fined Dh2,000.
