Dubai Civil Defence battled a major blaze that broke out on Sunday afternoon in a residential building in the Deira area.
Dozens of residents were led out of the four-storey building in Muraqqabat after the alarm was raised about at 3.20pm.
The fire is thought to have started in a flat on the first floor.
Firefighters from Port Saeed, Al Hemryia and Al Ras stations managed to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes.
Paramedics treated residents, including children, for smoke inhalation.
No serious injuries were reported.
