RAK Police raid villa being used to store fake luxury goods

Police in Ras Al Khaimah raided a house that was being used to make and store fake luxury goods, seizing items valued at Dh35 million in the process.

After observing the villa, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Special Task Team swooped on the property and arrested a gang of suspects, all Asian men.

The rented villa was being used to store and produce counterfeit goods. The items would be moved to a warehouse in another emirate before being sold as the real thing to customers around the UAE.

Brig Gen Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, acting chief of RAK Police, praised the Organised Crime Section for its efforts.

Equipment used to make the fake goods and the warehouse in another emirate were also seized by police. The suspects have been referred to public prosecution.
