RAS AL KHAIMAH // The air wing team of the Ras Al Khaimah Police rescued three hikers who lost their way on a mountain in the Ghalilah area.
A helicopter was called in to locate three Asians following a phone call to the police reporting that the men were in a critical condition at 4,500 feet above sea level in Wadi Ghalilah.
The team located the hikers within 15 minutes, said Lt Col Saeed Rashid Al Yamahi, head of the RAK air wing department
They were suffering from extreme fatigue due to heat and dehydration and were administered first aid before being taken to hospital.
Lt Col Al Yamahi urged residents, tourists and amateur mountain climbers to notify authorities and family before setting out and take safety and security precautions.
