Printing house in Ajman gutted by fire

Civil Defence extinguished the blaze in just over half an hour

A fire broke out at a printing house in Al Jurf's Industrial area in Ajman on Tuesday.

Civil Defence were notified of the blaze at 12.12pm after plumes of black smoke wafted towards residential neighbourhoods, said Brig Gen Mohammed Jumeirah, director of civil defence in Ajman.

Firefighters arrived at the scene within four minutes and extinguished the blaze by 12.47pm. No casualties were reported from what Brig Gen Jumeirah described as a "medium and not developed" fire.

The printing house was cooled for an hour before Ajman Police took control of the site to investigate the cause of the fire.
