A Dubai motor vehicle number plate, K 50, has been sold at auction for Dh1.5 million.
Orasia Auctioneers conducted the Roads and Traffic Authority's 72nd "distinguished number plates" auction, and the sale was attended by 67 bidders.
The director general of Orasia, Mohammed Rashid Al Ali, was the auctioneer and 115 plates were auctioned off for a total of Dh16.9m.
The second most popular plate of the day, I 26, sold for Dh1.3m. The 73rd RTA licence plate auction will be held in September.
