A warehouse in Al Quoz 2 that was used to store foodstuffs went up in flames yesterday. There were no injuries and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is continuing. The fire began just before 8am and was put out at 9.10am. “There have been no injuries and no deaths,” a Dubai Civil Defence spokesman said. “The fire has been stopped this morning.” In July, official inspections of warehouses found a number of breaches, including poor storage of goods, lack of maintenance and the absence of periodic inspections of fire safety equipment.
