The sun has set and revellers have taken to Downtown Dubai in anticipation for Burj Khalifa's laser light show.
More than 1.5 million spectators are expected to join celebrations in the area and Souq Al Bahar has reached maximum capacity.
Only those who have reserved tables in the surrounding area will be granted entry.
Meanwhile, roads in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are beginning to busy ahead of New Years Eve celebrations and parking lots are already filling up.
The Dubai Mall parking lot closed at 5pm along with all entrances to the mall.
The Roads and Transport Authority advised revellers to seek alternative parking at Musalla, Al Wasl Club, Dubai Water Canal and Jafliya.
Public transport services are also running for those heading to Burj Khalifa for the laser light show.
Al Asayel Street from Oud Metha Street to Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard closed by 4.30pm.
Dubai Police have tweeted this information for Arabic road users heading to the Burj Khalifa this evening.
Pedestrians have been allocated specific paths to make their way around Downtown Dubai.
New Year’s revellers in Abu Dhabi should prepare for heavy traffic on the breakwater and Corniche on Sunday evening. There is a silver lining, though. In Abu Dhabi, there will be free parking on New Year’s Day, effective from midnight tonight until 8am on Tuesday, January 2.
In Ras Al Khaimah, roads leading to Marjan Island’s main entrance will close from 10pm.
The National Centre of Meteorology warned motorists that fog is expected on Monday morning. So if you're headed back to work after a late New Year's Eve night, be sure to give yourself extra time on the roads and drive carefully.

KKR & Co, or Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, is a global private equity and investment firm with around $195 billion of assets as of the end of last year.
