SHARJAH // A new dock for fishing boats, yachts and jet-skis has been opened at the north end of Al Mamzar beach.
Sharjah municipality completed construction of the dock after previously banning boats and jet-skis from being beached along the emirate’s shoreline.
Riyad Eilan, Sharjah municipality director, urged boat and jet-ski owners and fishermen to move their vessels to the new location and remove any waste or debris or face a fine by the municipality.
He also urged boat owners to stop using abandoned vessels as a storage as this can have an adverse effect on marine life.
