Parents will now be able to track their children’s journey to and from school.
The Abu Dhabi Education Council and Emirates Transport launched the smartphone application Hafilaty on Monday in a bid to enhance school bus safety.
The app allows parents to track their children onboard a school bus and details pick-up and drop-off timings.
As part of the initiative, Emirates Transport has installed advanced systems, including GPS tracking systems to locate the bus, NFC technology on pupils’ cards, and smartphone applications for parents, movement co-ordinators, drivers, and supervisors, said Mohammed Al Jarman, Director-General of Emirates Transport.
The Hafilaty app is available on Android and iOS. Parents can download it and login using their emirates ID number registered at the school to receive daily notifications about bus movements.
