National Day celebrations in Sharjah

SHARJAH // Firework displays, fashion shows and an operetta are some of the events and activities to be held in Sharjah to mark National Day.

From November 27 until December 3, the community is invited to participate in activities taking place in the Heart of Sharjah, Megamall, Sharjah Old Car Club, Sharjah University City, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, and Al Dhaid and Khor Fakkan on the east coast, said Mohammed Ali Al Noman, the chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).

Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront will be lit up with fireworks and light shows, in addition to various activities that embrace all family members of the emirate’s community, said Mr Al Noman.

Other activities include an air show planned to take place in Al Khan and an operetta held on Flag Island titled ‘The Story of a Flag – a Nation’s Dream’.

Sharjah Marine Museum and Sharjah Aquarium are preparing a fashion competition. Furthermore a programme for traditional cooking, performances, cultural wedding and plays will be part of the National Day celebrations.

The rasing of the UAE flag will take place at Al Dhaid, Dibba Al Hisn and Kalba.

The 42nd National Day Committee Sharjah has provided the Sharjah Call Centre with information on the activities and competitions and citizens are encouraged to call the toll free number 800-800-00 with any queries.
