Multiple accidents on main roads in Dubai exacerbate rush hour traffic

Multiple accidents slowed traffic across the emirate on Tuesday, particularly on Hessa Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road on Tuesday.

DUBAI // Multiple accidents slowed traffic across the emirate on Tuesday, particularly on Hessa Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Two accidents were reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, one opposite Jumeirah Village Triangle, approaching the Dubai Investment Park interchange towards Abu Dhabi, and the other just before the interchange between Al Khawaneej Road and Airport Road towards the capital. Both accidents caused heavy congestion, reported @TrafficDXB.

Motorists were met with long delays on Hessa Street caused by two accidents, one before the Al Khail Road exit, towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and the other was reported just before the Al Khail Road exit towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Another incident was reported on Dubai-Al Ain Road after the Academic City exit, northbound, leading to traffic build-up.

Those driving around Business Bay were also met with heavy delays between the bridge and Dubai Mall.

And slow moving traffic was reported on Umm Suqeim Road between Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road.

The Roads and Transport Authority advised motorists to avoid King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street between 3pm and 10pm due to the opening of the Dubai International Boat Show from February 28 to March 4.

Those heading to Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residences should take Sheikh Zayed Road Al Naseem Street, the RTA said.

In Abu Dhabi, an accident on Khaleej Al Arabi Street, outbound after Mussaffah Bridge led to heavy congestion for commuters in the capital.
