The Dar Al Ber Society helped 2,382 residents and visitors from 52 different nationalities convert last year at its Islamic Information Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road. Rashid Al Junaibi, manager of the centre, said the converts were from Eastern Asia, Europe, the US, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
“The centre, all set to enlighten visitors and new Muslims about Islam, distributed 441,338 brochures on Islam in different languages, and ran 3,443 lectures, classes, training courses, and cultural activities for the same last year,” Mr Al Junaibi said.
Copies of the Quran with simplified translation in 15 languages , along with brochures on the teachings of Islam, Quran and Sunnah, were given to visitors.
In cooperation with civil society organisations and philanthropists, the centre conducts lectures on at labour camps and for low-income families.
