Two men who broke into a Starbucks coffee shop in Dubai and stole Dh18,000 had their jail sentences reduced from one year to 6 months.
At 6.30am on January 6, the manager of the Starbucks branch on Sheikh Zayed Road arrived to find the main door smashed in and the safe damaged.
The 24-year-old Yemeni and 28-year-old Uzbek defendants were arrested shortly after, said an Emirati police lieutenant.

"They stopped their car near the place and used sharp tools to break in then split the stolen amount," said the officer.
The men denied charges of theft and damaging property at Dubai Criminal Court and had their sentences halved by Dubai Court of Appeal.
They will be deported after serving their jail terms.
