ABU DHABI // Two men sexually assaulted each other in a Ramadan tent, a court heard yesterday.
A fight between the pair, A W, a vet from Bahrain, and J E, a teenager from Jordan, quickly escalated and then turned sexual, prosecutors told the Criminal Court.
“He came at me from behind and lowered my pants. We were fighting, so I had to defend myself,” said the teenager. “He then sat on top of me, in front of people. He started touching me in a bad way.”
The teenager responded by pulling the man’s kandora, exposing his genitalia.
The vet said the teenager had hit him in the head with a rock, injuring one of his ears.
“I caused him no harm, yet still I forgive him for it,” said the vet.
The judge was not impressed with either man’s behaviour, saying these were not the actions of grown men.
“You two don’t know each other well enough to pull pranks, or joke around,” he said. “This should not happen between you, and especially not in the holy month of Ramadan.”
They were both charged with sexual assault.
A verdict is expected on September 25.
