Man tried to blackmail friend into having sex with him, Dubai court hears

DUBAI // A man tried to blackmail his friend into having sex with him by threatening to post a video of her naked online has been sent to jail.

The victim, a 27-year-old Filipina, told Dubai Criminal Court that she drove from Sharjah to a flat in Al Qusais where Pakistani G K, 36, friend’s lived.

Records show the pair went into a room and began getting intimate. She got undressed but moments later the defendant’s friends arrived and started yelling at them.

She said she put her clothes back on as GK, who worked as a driver, attended to his friends. When he came back into the room and asked her to have sex with her, the woman said she refused.

“He then touched me and when I tried to walk away from him, he said he took a recording of me naked and that he would post it [online] if I didn’t sleep with him,” the victim said.

She promised him that they would have sex the next day, but she then ignored his calls until he sent her a text message that read “OK, done,” to suggest that had posted the video.

The woman got scared and reported him to police.

At Dubai Criminal Court on Thursday, GK was sentenced to six months in jail for a charge of sexual assault.

He will be deported after completing his sentence.
