A man stabbed his wife to death then hanged himself from the ceiling fan in their living room, according to Dubai police.
Police were called to the apartment in Al Barsha on Friday at around 4pm after the couple's flatmate found the body of 35-year-old Nepalese cleaner.
Police tried to call the cleaner’s 30-year-old wife but heard her mobile phone ring from the bedroom.
Officers and forensic experts found the woman's body stabbed multiple times in the neck.
The flatmate told police he often heard the couple fighting and his attempts to help the couple with their problems were met with rejection.
The case has been referred to the public prosecution.
