An Asian man in his thirties has been rescued after he was bitten by a snake in the Ras Al Khaimah mountains on Wednesday.
RAK Air Wing rescue team managed to reach the man after receiving a report of the incident.
“We received a report at 5pm on Wednesday saying that a man has been injured after a snake bite. A helicopter was dispatched to the site along with paramedics and a rescue team,” said Col Saeed Al Yamahi, head of the Air Wing.
“After a search mission the team managed to reach the man and provided him with first aid and transferred him to the hospital for treatment,” he said.
Th e man was sent to Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital and was discharged on Thursday.
The UAE is home to a number of scorpions, snakes and spiders.
Last year, a rarely-seen venomous orange Arabian cat snake was spotted in the southeastern part of the UAE.

The Arabian cat snake was observed twice, in Wadi Helo, along the border of Sharjah and Fujairah.
Fortunately, the venom of the Arabian cat snake is not suppose to be dangerous to people and, as a rear-fanged snake, it is unlikely to inject a human.
Col Al Yamahi urged members of the community to take care and caution while visiting mountainous and wild areas.
