Man jailed in Dubai for assaulting woman he ‘hypnotised’ during medical treatment

DUBAI // A man sexually assaulted a woman he had hypnotised as part of an alternative medicine treatment.

Dubai Criminal Court yesterday jailed K S, 47, for six months for sexual assault and practising alternative medicine without a licence. The Indian had denied both charges.

The father of the Indian victim, S S, 22, was seeing him at a clinic in Jumeirah Lake Towers for treatment to his shoulder. In September last year, the father asked him to train his daughter in alternative medicine.

By November 23, K S had left the clinic and started a practice at his home in Al Quoz.

“I started visiting him in his flat and after a few days he allowed me to start diagnosing patients under his supervision,” the victim said.

“Then, in November, I suffered from some feminine problems. I told him so he would treat them.”

She said he would make her lie down and massage her head until she was almost unconscious.

“He would touch my body and violate my private parts,” said the woman, who went through the process three times before she realised she was being sexually assaulted.

During questioning he insisted he was activating her hormones and it was an important part of the treatment.

He will be deported after completing his sentence.
