ABU DHABI // A man has been charged with premeditated murder after it was claimed he ran over a man, placed him in the car, and lit it on fire.
Prosecutors said on Monday that the man initially denied the claim, when the burning car was discovered by police in Bani Yas, saying he had nothing to do with it.
Following forensic examinations of the body found in the car, the incident was reported as a suspected crime.
It is claimed he ran down the victim to avenge his late brother, who the defendant claims was murdered as a result of incitement from the victim.
Public prosecution referred the defendant to the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court and charged him with premeditated murder.
