ABU DHABI // The judges of the Man Booker International Prize 2015 will share their views on world literature at New York University Abu Dhabi next month.
The judges will discuss the term world literature, coined to cover contemporary developments in fiction and the changing map of literature. They will ask whether writers can and should go global, and explore how translation affects writers, their work and their audiences.
The four panellists are Wen-Chin Ouyang, professor of Arabic and comparative literature at the University of London, Nadeem Aslam, a novelist, Elleke Boehmer, professor of world literature in English at the University of Oxford, and Edwin Frank, editorial director of the New York Review Classics.
Marina Warner, chairwoman of the Man Booker International Prize 2015 and a professor of English and creative writing at Birbeck College, will moderate the discussion on November 4.
