DUBAI // An Asian maid is on trial for using her urine to prepare food for her boss’ family in Khorfakkan.
The woman appeared at the Khorfakkan Court of First Instance on Thursday where she was accused of endangering the life of the Emirati family she worked for.
The maid’s employer filed a case with the police after discovering several bottles of what appeared to be urine in the her bedroom according to court documents.
The family’s suspicions were raised after noticing a pungent smell in the food prepared by the maid which prompted them to search her belongings.
The bottles seized in her bedroom were sent to the forensic laboratory which confirmed the liquids were human urine.
The maid confessed to adding her urine to the food she prepared during questioning saying that she did it for personal reasons.
In court, the public prosecutor said that the urine was used to cast a spell of control on the family.
The case was adjourned until next month.
