Dubai Civil Defence put out a fire at a paint factory in Jebel Ali on Saturday evening.
Brigadier General Ahmed Al Sayegh, the assistant director of Dubai Civil Defence, said there were no casualties in the fire.
He pointed out that the highly flammable chemical substances on site helped the fire spread quickly and produced a plume of heavy smoke.
Fire-fighting teams from four stations were sent to the scene at 6.30pm and were able to contain the flames and prevent it spreading to neighbouring buildings within three hours.
