Emirates has landed six of its aircraft with Year of Zayed livery on six continents on May 6, which marks the centennial birthday of the UAE's Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed.

The aircraft touched down in Sao Paulo, Geneva, New York, Brisbane, Mauritius and Hong Kong.

The special livery was first unveiled in November on the fuselage of Emirates' 100th A380.

A total of 10 Emirates aircraft are carrying the livery throughout this year, and so far they have travelled to more than 90 cities on more than 1,800 flights, according to the Dubai carrier.

The UAE is about halfway through the Year of Zayed with countless initiatives having been launched.

At the weekend, President Sheikh Khalifa ordered that all serving and retired Government employees be paid an additional one month's salary to celebrate 100 years since Sheikh Zayed's birth.
