Abu Dhabi // A healthcare service provider has invited women to participate in a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest simultaneous breast cancer self-examination.
Women will be taught to perform a self-examination for breast cancer before being asked to participate in a group self-exam for the Guinness title, said VPS Healthcare of the event on October 15 at the Zayed University Convention Centre in the capital.
It aims to promote the merits of early detection during breast cancer awareness month this month.
“Many breast cancer cases in the UAE are reported at an advanced stage compared to cases in the US and Europe, where it is often detected at an early and treatable stage,” said Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, managing director of VPS Healthcare.
“Through this event we want to draw attention to the merits of self-examination.”
