SHARJAH // The University Hospital Sharjah celebrated its fourth anniversary by announcing a Dh16.8 million expansion.
The hospital plans on adding an interventional cardiology unit, a new hemodialysis unit, a refractive surgery centre, a specialised unit for long-term patients, a paediatric emergency room and in-vitro fertilisation treatment.
This year, it has added new medical services including, neuro-spinal surgery, bariatric surgery and plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. The hospital is also undergoing the Joint Commission International patient-safety accreditation process to further improve quality of patient care, ensure a safe environment and to reduce risks to patients and staff.
