Pink Polo match to raise funds for breast cancer

DUBAI // Pink Polo 2013 takes place at Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club in Abu Dhabi on Friday, with hundreds expected for a fun charity day in aid of breast cancer.

“Every year since inception, Pink Polo has garnered a very positive and favourable response and this year will exceed the expectations set by previous years,” said Ahmed Al Nuami, general manager of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club.

“Our schedule for this year’s event will be nothing short of spectacular.”

The gates open at 2pm and entry is free.

The fun wull begin with family camel and pony rides, face painting and a picnic and balloon release.

A magician will entertain children throughout the day and organisers are promising a host of other activities for visitors of all ages.

From 4.15pm to 4.55pm there will be a camel polo display and a skydiving show by a squad from the Armed Forces.

The main event will take place about 5pm when the polo players representing Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and St Regis Hotels come out for warm ups.

There will be an opening ceremony with team presentations and the game is expected to start at 5.15pm.

Families can have their photos taken with the players after the game.

The evening will conclude with a trophy presentation, followed by awards for the best pink constumes for adults, children and pets.
