SHARJAH // The Pink Caravan, an annual cancer awareness horse ride across the emirates, is set to launch next month.

The campaign is its 5th year and aims to spreading awareness about the significance of early detection, dispelling misconceptions related to the disease and lobby for the creation of the first UAE National Cancer Registry,

Between March 16 to 25, riders on horseback accompanied by mobile clinics will travel through the emirates and offer free examinations and screenings for citizens and residents. The ride will start from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club and ends 10 days later at The Galleria in Abu Dhabi.

“We look forward this year to engage non-government health and social organisations in our efforts to work together, addressing the issue of breast cancer by encouraging more women and men in the UAE to undergo early detection examinations regularly,” said Ameera BinKaram, President Board of Trustees of Friends of Cancer Patients.
