Authorities in Fujairah have closed down two grocery shops for health and safety breaches.
Fatima Al Miksah, head of public health at the municipality, said 48 stores were fined and 64 were given warnings, while 53 samples from the shops were sent to medical laboratories and 12 samples were sent to the food control centre.
The authorities also renewed 253 professional and food licences. It received 26 complaints.
