Residents in Fujairah have asked that the National Ambulance Company provide more emergency vehicles for the area.

The call followed a fatal traffic accident last week on Al Hail Road, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National reported.

“We call on the National Ambulance Company to increase the number of rescue vehicles in Fujairah and to use advanced technologies that will enable them to reach the scene of the accident in record time,” said the victim’s brother, Maktoum Al Yamahi.

Plans are in place to improve response times by increasing the number of ambulances from 24 to 31 by next year, said the company.

“We are currently implementing the second capacity development plan at the National Ambulance Company,” said Cap Ahmed Al Hajri, the deputy director.
