The UAE reported 1,064 Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking total recorded infections to 107,293.

A further 1,271 patients beat the virus as the recovery tally climbed to 98,555.

One more patient died, taking the death toll to 446.

The latest infections were identified after a further 78,483 tests were carried out.

The UAE has conducted more than 11 million tests to date as part of a mass screening strategy aimed at detecting cases quickly and slowing the spread of the virus.

New daily infections have been above 1,000 for seven days.

While case numbers have increased in recent weeks, the number of daily recoveries has exceeded infections seven times in the first 12 days of October.

The number of daily recoveries has been above 1,000 for the past 14 days, helping to reduce the number of active cases in the country.

The average number of daily infections in October is 1,091.

The average number of recoveries each day in the same period is 1,235.

There are 8,292 active Covid-19 cases across the Emirates.

The UAE recorded its highest number of daily infections on October 3, when 1,231 positive tests were confirmed.
