The UAE announced 50 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, as well as the recovery of four people. Some of the new patients were infected after coming into contact with previously announced cases. The others were recent travellers who are understood to have been infected abroad. The total number of confirmed cases in the UAE now stands at 248. The 50 new patients include one citizen each from Sri Lanka, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Tunisia, South Africa, Belgium, South Korea, Bulgaria, France, Czech Republic, Australia, Lebanon, Kenya, Maldives, Sudan, Iran, Ireland, Morocco, Pakistan, and Sweden; two people each from Italy, Egypt, the UAE, Spain, the Netherlands, Jordan and the Philippines; three new patients each from the US, Bangladesh, and Palestine, and six from India. All patients are stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said. The four new recoveries include three Pakistanis and one Bangladeshi, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 45. The ministry called on the public to adhere to healthy practices to protect themselves and others from catching coronavirus. It advised people with respiratory illnesses to avoid public places and said everyone should abide by the precautionary measures put in place by authorities to prevent the spread of the virus.
