The UAE had 102 new cases of coronavirus and one death on Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Prevention reported.

The number of infection cases in the country is now 570.

An Arab woman, 47, with underlying illnesses is the latest to succumb to the virus.

The ministry also reported the recovery of three patients, two from the Philippines and one from India.

So far, 58 patients have recovered in the UAE.

The country has reported three deaths with 220,000 people tested for Covid-19. The UAE has the second highest test density for the virus in the world.

The new cases include people of 28 different nationalities.

These include: 30 from India; 16 from the UK; seven each from the UAE and the Philippines; six from Egypt; three each from Italy and Ireland; and two each from Brazil, Sweden, Australia, Ethiopia, Canada, Lebanon, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Portugal.

There was one each from New Zealand, Slovakia, Morocco, Greece, China, France, Germany, Algeria, Iraq, Colombia, Venezuela and Poland.

The ministry said all cases were stable and are receiving the necessary health care.

To limit the spread of the virus, the UAE will continue nationwide disinfection of streets and public transport until April 4.

Residents have been told to stay at home between 8pm to 6am.

People are allowed to leave their homes during the day but trips must be restricted to essential shopping or medical appointments.

Dr Farida Al Hosani, from Abu Dhabi Centre for Public Health, said she hoped the public would stay at home during the disinfection programme.
