SHARJAH // Handicrafts designed by prison inmates have gone on display at a souq in the emirate.

In a move to help integrate inmates from Sharjah Punitive and Correctional Establishment with the community and showcase their talents in a productive way, their hand-made works have been put on sale at Souq Al Jubail.

A space, labelled Products of Hope, has been allocated to display chairs, tables, gift boxes and ship miniatures made by the convicts.

The move is part of Souq Al Jubail management’s efforts to boost its partnerships with government entities in Sharjah and their commitment to supporting all groups of society.
