The country's rulers attended funeral prayers for Sheikha Hamda bint Ahmed Al Ghurair, mother-in-law of the Ruler of Ajman, on Saturday.
Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, led the prayers at Al Shuhada Mosque in Dubai, reported state news agency Wam.
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, were also in attendance, as well as several sheikhs and senior officials.
They offered their condolences to Sheikha Hamda's family and prayed for the family to be granted patience and solace.
Sheikha Hamda was the mother of Sheikha Fatima bint Zayed bin Saqr Al Nahyan, wife of the Ajman Ruler. Sheikha Hamda was also the grandmother of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman and Chairman of the Transitional Committee of the UAE Football Association.
She was laid to rest at Al Qusais Cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
