UAE leaders offer condolences to family of Emirati killed in Yemen

Members of the UAE's royal families have extended their condolences to the family of an Armed Forces member who died in Yemen last week.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance, each visited the Al Hajeri family in Abu Dhabi to pay their respects.

Saeed Mohammed Al Hajeri while taking part in Operation Restoring Hope, the Saudi Arabia-led Arab intervention in Yemen to support the legitimate government against Houthi rebels.

The General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces announced Al Hajeri's death late on Thursday night. It said he died while performing his national duty. His funeral was held in Al Rawashid Mosque Baniyas on Friday.

A number of officials, military officers, Emiratis and residents took part in funeral prayers led by Dr Mohammed Al Kaabi, chairman of General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
