UAE Flag Day to be celebrated on November 2 this year

National campaign commemorates the accession of Sheikh Khalifa to the role of President of the nation

UAE citizens and expatriates alike will hoist the country’s flag high at 11am on Thursday, November 2 in celebration of national Flag Day.

Although UAE Flag Day has been, until now, commemorated on November 3, the Ministry of Cabinet and the Future issued a circular on Saturday announcing that celebrations will take place on Thursday, November 2 this year.

The Government called on all ministries, federal bodies and their affiliates to raise the UAE flag at 11am as a show of unity, patriotism and loyalty to the Emirates and its leadership, and solidarity with the values of the union established by the country’s Founding Fathers.

Flag Day is a national campaign, which was launched by Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, in November 2013 to commemorate the accession of Sheikh Khalifa as President of the nation.
