UAE and Saudi dignitaries tour Roads of Arabia at Louvre Abu Dhabi - in pictures

The new exhibition opens on Thursday, displaying the rich and untold history of the Arabian Peninsula

Louvre Abu Dhabi's blockbuster new exhibition, Roads of Arabia: Archaeological Treasures of Saudi Arabia, includes hundreds of priceless artefacts from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Gold funeral masks, bronze statues, ancient steles (vertical stone slabs) and a door to the Kaaba of Makkah’s Grand Mosque are on display.

Many of the archaeological pieces have been unearthed only in the past few decades by Saudi and international teams, but they are slowly drawing back the curtain on a dazzling and unexplored world.
