Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, met her French counterpart yesterday at Zayed University, where she emphasised the UAE’s commitment to promoting development in poor countries.

Sheikha Lubna discussed with Annick Girardin ways to strength UAE and French partnerships in humanitarian efforts, reported the state news agency, Wam.

She said the UAE is the world’s largest donor of aid to Yemen and that more than 1.8 million Yemenis have benefited from this assistance.

Last year, the UAE gave Yemen more than Dh1.6 billion in aid and completed restoration projects on infrastructure in several governorates, said Sheikha Lubna.
