ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed discussed military and defence cooperation with the US defence secretary on Monday.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces met Ashton Carter during his visit to the UAE as part of a regional tour.

They discussed military operations against terrorism and the importance of avoiding civilian casualties, according to Wam, the state news agency.

Sheikh Mohammed and Mr Carter exchanged views on regional developments, including cooperation and coordination between their countries in promoting peace, security and stability in the region.
