Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid visits Expo 2020 site - in pictures
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied on his tour of the site by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee and President of the Department of Civil Aviation, and committee members.
The Ruler of Dubai called for a timely delivery of facilities to give organisers enough time to complete final arrangements well before the arrival of participants from more than 180 countries.
Sheikh Mohammed also urged members of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee, who accompanied him on the tour, to be patient, positive and optimistic.
Expo 2020 Dubai released an update on Monday that said about 99 per cent of more than 4.7 million cubic metres of earth had been recycled and used in construction, rather than being deposited at the landfill – in line with the Expo’s environmentally-friendly theme.
