Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed Liberian President George Weah on Tuesday to discuss co-operation in investment, economy and tourism.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces said he hoped the visit would strengthen the ties between the UAE and Liberia and “open up new avenues for bilateral co-operation that serve mutual interests”.
He said the UAE established relations with other countries "based on its conviction of people-to-people co-operation and interaction, so as to serve regional and international security, peace and stability, and bring about welfare to all peoples".
The two leaders had a dinner meeting at Zuma on Al Maryah Island, according to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
Mr Weah lauded the efforts made by the UAE towards sustainable development, as well as the country's political and economic stability.
Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation, and Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, also attended the meeting.
