Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte have discussed ways to strengthen relations between their countries.

In a call between the two on Thursday, they discussed their participation in the G20 Riyadh Summit to be chaired by Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Conte also discussed global developments in the fight against Covid-19, including vaccine updates and how important global co-operation is to ensure everyone is inoculated.

The two also reviewed the latest regional developments.

In April, the UAE sent 10 tonnes of medical supplies to Italy to help medics tackle coronavirus.

The shipment was to support more than 10,000 doctors and nurses.
