Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on Wednesday received the UK's senior defence adviser to the Middle East, Lt Gen Sir John Lorimer.
During the meeting held at the Sea Palace, Sheikh Mohamed and Gen Lorimer discussed co-operation and ways to enhance military and defence ties between the UAE and the UK, "to promote co-ordination and joint work between the two friendly countries", the state news agency Wam reported.
Sheikh Mohamed and Gen Lorimer exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East and their effects on the region's security and stability.
Also attending the meeting were Lt General Issa Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and British ambassador to the UAE, Patrick Moody.
