UAE nationals can now renew their passports via smartphone using the Ministry of Interior’s mobile service.
The ministry introduced the service through its smart apps programme so users do not need to visit service centres except in special cases that require personal presence, the state news agency, Wam, reported on Sunday.
The service will save time and ensure accuracy and safety of their transactions, said Maj Gen Khalifa Al Khaili, acting assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports.
Users can apply for passport renewal by using their Emirates ID. Passports will be sent to applicants.
