Many schools in the UAE break for half-term next week, offering the opportunity for weary kids and their parents to get away for a few days.
But for those who are not associated with the academic calendar, the daily grind will continue until the next public holiday - unless of course you have some annual leave lined up.
If it is you who is sitting envious as your colleagues drive or jet off into the sunset over the coming days, do not worry for there it is not a long wait until the country enjoys a few days off.
Residents will get four days off, including two in November and two in December, before 2020 arrives.
The first holiday to be marked is Prophet Mohammed's Birthday, which will fall on 12 Rabie Al Awwal - expected to be on Saturday, November 9.
After that comes Commemoration Day on Saturday, November 30, and National Day on December 2 and 3, which is a Monday and Tuesday.
The number of holiday days for the country's private and public sectors was unified by the UAE Cabinet in March. Public sector employees previously received more days off than those working for private companies.
Same public holidays for both sectors would make it easier for people to plan holidays and help strengthen social ties between all segments of the society, state media agency Wam reported at the time of the announcement.
